Wings of Angels, Wings of Eagles, Wings of Media Colleagues for Julian, Stella, Gabriel and Max Assange
I am full of hope and a calm assurance that journalists around the world are mobilising on behalf of Julian Assange who has been mobbed, psychologicall/physically tortured, and punished for publishing with a perfect track record. His tenacity and courage have challenged powerful entities that abuse power and he has paid a sacrificial price none of us could imagine.
This will be a miracle story, a love story and a pivotal moment in history that will sear the value of journalism, publishing, internet freedom, democracy and human rights into the public’s conscience for the next millenia.
This will be a story of the underdog overcoming an evil force that has tried to crush him, his family, fiancee and supporters.
This will be a spy story on the level of “Homeland” (I am a die-hard fan of this series, even though I couldn’t watch while Peter was tortured behind the glass in the fish tank). It involves the CIA, political interference, billion dollar bounty deals, betrayal and the emergence of adorable, smart children who were conceived in asylum as an act of revolution and the power of love. Love triumphs all.
It doesn’t matter if you are Jewish, Christian, Catholic, atheist, Buddhist, Hindu, Rastafarian, Muslim or any other faith… this is an epic tale where Love triumphs, humanity is saved (in painful increments and bursts of global solidarity), journalists write and publish the truth and the underdog wins.
As the Old Testament says… “I will raise you up on eagles’ wings and hold you in the palm of my hand… the snare of the fowler will never capture you…”.
Thank you to all the human rights organizations, journalists, celebrities, tweeps, facebookers and engaged citizens of the world for drawing your attention to Julian Assange, fighting for his freedom, restoration of health and justice.
