Not Fit for Trial in UK or US. Assange Should be Allowed Bail to Defend Himself. Better Yet, Go Free

Unfit for Trial: Julian Assange is Near-Death and Victim to 9 Yrs of Torture

Assange is a Political prisoner in a UK jail, whether Britain acknowledges it publicly or not. He is a Journalist/Publisher whether you like it or not. The truth of these phrases lies in facts, not in GaslightingAssange distortions which have been published around the world. They are lies.

Assange has been the Target of prolonged, orchestrated and severe psychological torture for 9 long years.

Given all of the above, even if the UK extradites Assange to the US, whatever Assange says or does to defend himself during a mock trial, the evidence has been obtained through torture, which is expressly forbidden according to International conventions.

Assange’s injuries are so severe that it may take the remainder of his life to heal from the psychological torture he has endured. Once the torture ends, (hopefully soon), the psyche does not just bounce back to normal within a couple of weeks. He will have flash backs to the moment he was abducted within Ecuador’s London UK embassy, brought outside after 7 yrs of being indoors, disoriented and literally put off balance, lifted up off the ground and propelled head first into a waiting police van. He will have flashbacks to the capture shock, anxiety as he waited for his lawyers, physical pain and the intense humiliation which came from public lies about his behaviour in the Embassy. I am not a doctor, but it has been reported that he has Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, likely falls somewhere on the Autistic Spectrum, has battled Depression and has suffered physical problems associated with prolonged confinement (vision changes, shoulder pain and untreated dental trauma). The psyche does not heal overnight. It might take decades.

The perp walk version of arresting him in broad daylight, like a urine-saturated carpet being removed from the Ecuadorean embassy, followed immediately by the looting of all of his personal belongings, storage devices, camera and legal documents — would devastate any human being.

Therefore, no matter what the US wants from Assange, his testimony or possible plea deal or any of his words/actions must be excluded from evidence in a trial because it was obtained through Torture. The same holds true for Chelsea Manning who is also being arbitrarily detained though she has committed no crime. She is being coercively detained and financially penalized (daily) for exercising her right to not participate in a Grand Jury process. It amounts to torture in so far as the US government is stealing her freedom, removing her from a supportive peer group, limiting the public’s access to her and stealing money from her. Her gender transition therapies are ongoing and she is struggling both physically and psychologically.

Both Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning have provided information in the public interest at great personal cost to themselves.

Any evidence obtained through their torture should not be admissible in any civilized court or Grand Jury.

The UK must rescind its disproportionate punishment of a bail breach infraction, release Assange immediately from Belmarsh Maximum Security prison, grant him safe passage to a country of his choice and stand up against the US pressure to have him extradited into the meat grinder of US injustice where he is literally facing a death penalty or life sentence in an inhumane US Super-Maximum security prison, in the Darkest Corner of the prison system.
